Our Summer 2026 selection of stories centers the value of honoring each other’s humanity, cultivating what is best and most constructive in our aspirations and abilities, and building the best future we can, together. The Joy of Being Human is about creativity, welcome, and Unalienable human rights. The struggle for universal freedom is ongoing and includes moments many forget to acknowledge. The Nova Knicks showed us what hardworking underdogs can do, with a studious, crafty approach to excellence. Wildfire smoke is limiting our freedom and infringing our rights, but cooperation can keep us above the climate redline.

Our Summer 2026 cover image is a panorama of Barcelona, because it is a coastal city with deep history, where the collision of culture, politics, self-expression, and creative engineering come together to embody the spirit of vibrant inventiveness we treat as the right of all people and communities.

Rooted, Creative, Resilient

Our Spring 2026 selection of stories centers the cool, intense, weathered, adaptive air of the New Jersey coast, the blue-gray North Atlantic, the places where revolution and invention have uplifted and defended humanity. The Blue Planet Tartan evokes the constructive entanglement of Earth, this planet that sustains all of us. The Rescue Loon stands for an implicit commitment to reciprocity and shared liberation. Springsteen uses music to counter a sense of widespread grief and despair. The Nova Knicks embody the “magic” of deep preparation and the learning, solidarity, and service culture promoted on the campus whose name and spirit they carry.
