Rooted, Creative, Resilient
In the spring of 2026, the energy of American society is under enormous strain—from political division, coordinated industrial-scale disinformation, and pervasive inequalities that make free people unfree and undermine the legitimacy of major institutions. There are countless worthy reasons for grief and friction, but our sense of common purpose leads to our society missing the opportunity to connect and heal. Salted aims to bring the weathered, resilient, rooted, and creative spirit of the New Jersey coast to the work of envisioning a better way forward. We are all part of that envisioning; our values and emotions, our hopes and talents, our human relationships and sense of community, all play a role in shaping what we live, together, in society.
